Flying and Bringing your gun with you:
If you are flying you may still transport your gun with you. It is a very straight forward process at the airport. Shooting equipment is accepted as checked baggage.

The airline you are flying has firearms requirements listed on their websites. Traveling with your airsoft guns is easy and straightforward, don't bother telling them its airsoft, just declare it as a firearm and do the process...its easier than explaining what airsoft is with 1000 people eyeing the apparent "guns" your transporting.

Longshanks has an excellent how-to for the process:

When checking a firearm, you must:

Declare to the representative that you are checking a firearm (If a Security Checkpoint is prior to the ticket counter, you must declare the existence of a firearm to security personnel.)

Present firearm(s) unloaded and sign a "Firearms Unloaded" declaration

Lock the firearm(s) in a hard-sided, crush-proof container and retain the key or combination.

There are a couple of options for shipping. Having tried both sending it to the organizer and sending it to the hotel I can say the ability to have my gear right away and get it set up has become my preferred method.

If you plan to get in Thursday night and stay in a hotel:

FedEx/UPS/DHL your equipment directly to the hotel you will be staying at. This gives you the opportunity to prep your gear over night, charge batteries, load mags etc. Put a day or two extra into your time plan for arrival of the box. FedEx may say it's a 2nd day package but better to plan for a day's delay just because your time once you hit the ground will be very compressed.

If you ship it in a cardboard box don't trash it! Break it down and keep it in the rental car...it's critical (ask me how I know ) so that you can ship your stuff back! Have packing tape, it is a pain in the bottom to have to find packing tape in a town you are unfamiliar with on a Sunday evening.

Sunday evening:
Have your pre-paid labels that you made at home ready, as its also a pain in the bottom to try and work on this problem when you are looking at trying to get everything else packed so you don't miss your flight Monday morning.

Re-assemble your cardboard box.

Pack all your gear, seal the box and put your shipping label on it and only after you've showered and look human again do you go down to the front desk and ask the nice lady to please ship this box out in the morning

Have all your tracking numbers with you and you'll know where your equipment is. An additional twist is that if you are leaving on Monday later in the morning you could look up a FedEx/UPS/DHL drop off point near the hotel and just drop it off yourself to ensure that your box gets out when you think its supposed to.

If you'd like to ship to Black Company directly:
If you'd like to ship your guns/equipment to us directly you are welcome to do that as well.

Our terms are the same as if you were dropping it off at any other shipping point you must provide a pre-paid return label and be prepared to re-package any and all items for return shipping. Operations will not accept loose, unpackaged or non-pre-paid packages for return. In short, you send a box, we receive it. Then you give us back a sealed box with shipping label and we put it back in the post for you. I can't stress this enough BRING YOUR PRE-PAID SHIPPING LABEL WITH YOU. Seriously, if you leave it without a label this time we will keep it, don't make someone have to figure out how to get your gear back to you. If you don't care enough about it to handle it don't make it our problem.

We will not have boxes, tape, peanuts, foam or any shipping supplies what-so-ever so don't expect it.

We will not open/inspect packages upon arrival for breakage, and will not accept open unsealed boxes for return shipping. I highly recommend you add a roll of packing tape to your planned gear list if you are shipping gear.

Your box will be transported to the site and will be available to you after the participants 1400 hr arrival time on Friday. Be sure that your box is clearly marked with your name, do not rely on the shipping label to be ledgible; add your name somewhere on the outside of the box.

Shipping address for Black Company:
M.Partenheimer
Black Company
5261 Highland Rd #103
Baton Rouge, LA 70808
225-938-6284

And just as a last item of info, use tracking labels for everything you send either to your hotel or to us. This will make your equipment transportation experience much less stressful.
