2-6 Bravo,

Last I checked, it's the sneaky bastard
that survives the wars... Wink

I'll be there as 355th SPS, Cobra Flight,
out of Takhli, Thailand. Been pondering
the same thing when it comes to base
defense. It's better to be prepared for
a fight, than to show up like the UN in
Africa.... Rolling Eyes

Duece,
You won't be fighting a stationary war so don't get wrapped around the axle on fighting positions. I appreciate your bringing the FM but we've seen them. I'm not trying to dampen your enthusiasm regarding this, but GIs will be generally be running missions rather than filling sandbags or digging holes.

No there won't be a battalion worth of people there, this is part of the roleplaying aspect...it let's us, let you get some sleep. Your recon teams will be handling Lp/Op.

The ARVN player is part of the MIKE team, don't worry we got that squared away.

Mocked up period radios in FRS are perfectly acceptable, but please remember that the RTO will be issued a radio, and every squaddie will not have a radio! So don't every one go busting out your pocket motorola.

In all seriousness a GI only area will not be necessary, your missions won't be available to you until you are given your orders by higher, higher on-site.

I'm stoked! I'm also a grunt, Light Infantry up at 10th MTN, Ft. Drum. I get out in 12 days though, going back home to St. Louis. I'll be there though! With at least my two brothers and I. My youngest brother is 16, but he's been Airsofting for years and is much more mature than most of the punks over here with me, hahah. I'll be acting as his guardian. Any issues there?

Are there any lists of players on the INF side, yet? I'm just trying to get a handle on the size of the element we'll be working with. I can't wait!

I spent 15 months in Iraq, Southern Baghdad and the "Triangle of Death", in which we did 90% dismounted patrols in urban as well as some orange and palm groves you'd swear were in 'Nam, not Iraq! Also have experience leading Fire Teams as well as Squads of grunts. Just got back from LA a couple of months ago actually, did a deployment to JROTC down at Ft. Polk. Good times!

It sounds like we're already gonna have a great amount of experience on our side!

I was also wondering if my brothers and I could be in the same Squad, it's a 12 hour drive and getting broken up for the game would definitely suck.

You as his guardian will not be a problem.

As far as a list of currently registered GI goes, we will probably have something up in the near future.

Hey Lando, I know for sure at least three other GI's. You got me, my buddy Big Puff, and Onebigbagofstupid. We are all local Louisiana guys.

I am also an grunt. 11B is the way to be. I spent some time active duty with the 82nd. (did a few tours myself) Glad to see a brother in arms coming down. I hope you and your brothers can get same squad assignments.

I know some dudes are coming from VA but not sure how many. KKen is with that crew, it is VA right? I think KKen said we should at least have about platoon strength for the line dawgs.

Mercy, Thank You! I really did not want to be digging a F**k ton of holes out there. I was prepared to dig if it was something we had to do, but I'm glad we won't be.

And generally, Thanks all of you for answering most if not all the questions I've had over the past few days.

Mercy:

Appreciate the additional info on not digging foxholes. 8)

Deuce:

I'm probably bringing at least two more guys
from my state guard unit, one of whom runs an
airsoft field in 'bama.

An interesting time will be had by all... Twisted Evil

Mercy,

Approximately what time on Sunday do you expect the Op to be over? I'm trying to plan my return flight

Thanks

Let me answer the questions that popped up last night.

Groups will generally be posted together just put the same Team Affiliation in your registration form we'll do our best to group you.

If you are going as someone's guardian when you register use the comments box to say who that is. You you wouldn't be much of a guardian if you weren't in the same squad!

Registration has folks from PA, VA, CA, CT, LA so far and cut-off will be 80. Get registered and paid quickly guys, the LRRP and MIKE teams are already filled and I don't want anyone to miss out.

We will be having a professional photographer there. His work is amazing and he really captures the feel of the events like no one else so get your gear glam on!

The op will be over at 1200hrs with packing up and all you will probably be clear no later than 1330. And dude...get pickin on an original name Razz

I have a buddy that wants to go, but he's currently in WLC (warrior leader course) and has no way of accessing the internet.

With him included I have three more people that may end up going.

Are we going to have a power source out there? And not for my cell phone, I pod, or any other hardware like that. I'm sure everyone will need to charge batteries at some point. I have a few extra, but after one long day, people will have the need to recharge.

Thanks. I decided to fly out Monday morning once I realized I am really going to want a shower. Thought Mercy was pretty unique since "No Mercy" is a more classic handle. Liked it cause it has a more Pulp Fiction feel.
